I & D Transport is an established transport company that wanted to branch out, they came to us for assistance obtaining a low rise demolition licence and expanding services into residential demolition, and so Beta Demolition was born.

 

Challenge

 

To support the business expansion, Beta Demolition identified a critical need to formalise their ad-hoc safety and quality assurance processes, introduce a complete OHS and quality management system, and prepare a comprehensive licence application. We provided them with an end-to-end solution that enabled compliance, increased their commercial capacity and ultimately moved their business forward.

 

Solution

 

To develop and implement a practical, achievable solution tailored to Beta Demolition’s requirements, we sat down with them to gather information, then undertook an independent business review and gap analysis. We aligned this information – where they were at – with their business goals, then developed a pathway to assist them in achieving them.

 

That pathway included developing and implementing a complete OHS and quality management system, providing the client with coaching and advice on how to continue utilising the system in daily business operations, and even assisting the client in obtaining their Certificate IV in OHS. We created a suite of business resources including documents, templates and frameworks to enable future compliance and break down legislative requirements into accessible, user-friendly components.

 

As the business operators came from CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) backgrounds, they needed additional assistance interpreting and applying relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Victorian Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Asbestos Regulations. We were able to provide this in a professional yet friendly manner, bringing the client along the journey to achieving compliance and thereby ensuring the business’ ongoing sustainability.
